Drogba Becomes The first African player to Win Golden Foot award

Drogba has won the 2013 Golden Foot award,he was presented
with the accolade at a ceremony in
Monte Carlo.
The eleventh edition of the public
voted award, the 35-year-old follows in
the footsteps of Zlatan Ibrahimovic –
who won it in 2012 – and becomes the
first African player to scoop the
prestigious prize.
The Galatasaray striker is also only the
second player to be honoured that has
played in the Premier League, with
Manchester United midfielder Ryan
Giggs the only other name from
England’s top-flight to receive
recognition.
Each year the ceremony is attended by
three former football stars, with
Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama,
Argentine great Ossie Ardiles and
France’s Jean-Pierre Papin this year’s
guests of honour.
